PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., March 13, 2020 – Bloodline Golf is pleased to announce that its R1-J blade putter was used by Ernie Els to win his first PGA TOUR Champions title at the Hoag Classic at Newport Beach Country Club in Orange County, CA . He closed with a 4-under 67 to finish at 16-under 197 to claim his victory in his third PGA Tour Champions start.
“We would like to congratulate Ernie on his first win on the PGA TOUR Champions,” said Brad Adams, Bloodline CEO. “We are thrilled for him and excited that our putter has been used to win another title. Seeing Ernie have such amazing results with the R1-J putter has been extremely rewarding. We’re proud that he became a brand ambassador and investor for Bloodline Golf after experiencing our stand-alone technology and becoming impressed by the response of the public to this technology.”
Els first played Bloodline’s R1-J blade putter in mid-2017 and was the first player to use Bloodline in a major championship when he played it in the U.S. Open at Erin Hills in 2017. He finished 2017 ranked #4 in the statistical category “Total Putting” on the PGA Tour. “I fell in love with the feel and roll the first time I used the putter,” said Els. “Then, the more I worked with the Bloodline technology, the more I felt like it was helping my confidence and also my consistency. I’m very impressed with the putter technology and happy to be using it during my first win on the PGA TOUR Champions.”
Bloodline has developed a premium putter line of CNC-milled heads which include a high-performance carbon fiber shaft that contributes to the putter’s unique capability to stand up by itself on the green. In designing its putters, the company created an ultralight shaft that does not compromise on feel or flex characteristics and also includes an oversized gripping section built directly into the shaft. This pioneering construction enables Bloodline putters to have an extremely low balance point that helps give more feel and release during the stroke.
All Bloodline putters feature interchangeable/adjustable components. The ability to interchange a variety of shaft/hosel combinations and lengths along with the ability to adjust the lie with an insert makes it possible to fit individuals without bending/heating the putter. This enables golfers of all levels and putting styles to easily get the proper fit.
The complete line of Bloodline putters including the R1-J, RG-1 C/S and RG-1, are available at a growing number of select retail locations. For more information about Bloodline authorized retailers or to purchase Bloodline product, please visit www.bloodline.golf.

The Bloodline brand is rooted in three generations of golf industry excellence and is committed to making a lasting impact on the game of golf. The company’s name pays tribute to a golf “bloodline” that includes Vale Adams, an extremely well-respected club professional from Illinois, his son Gary Adams, the founder of Taylor Made Golf, and his grandson Brad Adams, one of the founding members of Odyssey Golf. The legacy continues with Larry Bischmann, who built the team and strategy that launched the super-premium driver shaft, Diamana, which became the winningest driver shaft on the PGA TOUR. Adams and Bischmann joined forces to create the ultimate fusion of design, function, performance and heritage: Bloodline Golf.
